The Upper Arkansas Area Agency on Aging serves older adults over the age of 60 with services and support to help them maintain their quality of life and remain in the community as long as possible.

We offer material aid assistance, home repairs, home-delivered meals (often called Meals on Wheels), ombudsman services, transportation assistance, legal services, and assistance in navigating other community services.

    Dependent on experience; employees are subject to the policies and procedures of the Agency. Salary increases are subject to funding and are based on merit as determined by periodic evaluations.

    Responsible and employed by the Area Agency on Aging under the direction of the Upper Arkansas Area Council of Governments. This position includes coordinating volunteers for the AAA under the discretion of the Director for all of the Region’s counties. Performs additional duties as directed by the Director.

  • Requirements
    Must have organizational skills. Must have operational knowledge of computer applications and programs including MS Office. Have good math and problem-solving skills. Must have a strong desire to work with the elderly population. Good communication skills. Must have the ability to compile data and information necessary to complete monthly/annual reports.

Job Summary

Responsible and employed by the Area Agency on Aging under the direction of the Upper Arkansas Area Council of Governments. This position includes coordinating volunteers for the AAA under the discretion of the Director for all of the Region’s counties. Performs additional duties as directed by the Director.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Recruiting and interviewing new volunteers.
  • Provide training for specific volunteer roles at the direction of the Director.
  • Manage relationships between the volunteers and participants.
  • Communicate with internal programs and external partners to enhance volunteer opportunities.
  • Act as a liaison between the AAA and other organizations with whom we share volunteers.
  • Maintain accurate records of volunteers, training completed, and assignments on a monthly basis in accordance with State Unit on Aging Policy and Procedure.
  • Assisting with volunteer recognition and events as needed.
  • Maintain a current understanding of UAACOG services for purposes of information and referral.
  • Solicit input from others as needed to perform duties.
  • Maintain confidentiality with regards to all participant information.
  • Maintain a current knowledge and awareness of all UAACOG/AAA Policies and Procedures.
  • Always represent the Agency in a professional manner.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director.
